Advice from the design stage for two houses in Torrent d'Empordà.

Working closely with the architectural and engineering studios, we have achieved excellent results regarding the reduction of energy demand of the building (-70% compared to proposed building) through the combination of constructive solutions, use of materials and incorporation of passive strategies in the envelope and the ventilation system of the building.

We have also studied the water cycle and proposed a green roof of 500m² for improving the thermal insulation of the building, which as well as reducing the runoff from storms, promotes biodiversity, improves the durability of the deck and reduces the heat island effect in a rural setting. We have followed the principles of Cradle to Cradle in all our proposals (energy, water and materials).
