Housing can consume more than 40% of the resources we use (water and energy). From a population increase perspective, and indeed otherwise, this is an area that requires urgent action. Our goal is to encourage integrated sustainability strategies in the design of any type of community, from an individual building to a housing community (condominium), not forgetting commercial buildings and facilities of all kinds.
We propose constructions that, like trees, do not need to consume net energy, but instead produce more energy than they themselves require. Buildings that accumulate and store solar energy, treat their own waste water and release it gradually in its purest state (a purifying/filtrating building). A building is, for us, a living metabolism, and this is how we wish to treat it.
As with any living organism, a building's lifecycle -from its construction to its demolition- is a decisive factor in the design stage and the taking of decisions on architecture, materials and engineering solutions. EIG aims to act as an intermediary between architects, engineers, industrialists, property developers and landowners.
